Shillong, often referred to as the “Scotland of the East” due to its similarity with the Scottish highlands. Shillong was also the British capital of undivided Assam. The city’s historical buildings, Shillong is a paradise for nature and heritage lovers alike. Shillong is the ultimate hangout point for music lovers as well who is looking for new sounds and stirring melodies.
Shillong being the center point of Meghlalaya offers many nearby tourist spots like Cherrapunjee, Kaziranga, Mawlynnong, Majuli, Jowai & Guwahati. Although Shillong has its own Airport named as Umroi Airport but generally people arrive at Guwahati Airport due to its connectivity from other cities of India.

Day 1: Guwahati – Shillong (98 km/4 hours)
Welcome on arrival at Guiwahati Airport/Railway Station. On arrival at the Airport/Railway Station you will be greeted by AMT’s representative. After warm greetings proceed to Shillong. En route visit Umiam Lake (Barapani), a man made lake surrounded by sylvan hills and wrapped in the beauty of an assortment of green Khasi-pines and the azure blue skies, spend some time at Umiam Lake & you could do boating. Upon arrival at Shillong, check in to your hotel. In the evening you can visit the famous Police Bazar. Overnight stay in the hotel at Shillong.
Day 2: Shillong Sightseeing
In the morning after breakfast check out from the hotel & proceed to visit Shillong Peak & Elephant Falls. Elephant Falls is a mountain stream gorging down two successive falls set in dells of fern covered rocks. Later proceed to visit Shillong peak at an altitude of 6,649 ft. offers a bird’s eye view of the entire city and valley. Later in the afternoon visit Lady Hydari Park, Ward’s Lake Museum & Air Force Museum. Later return to hotel & evening free at leisure followed by overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Shillong Sightseeing & Transfer to Guwahati
After morning breakfast check out from the hotel & proceed to visit Laitlum Canyon. Laitlum Canyons is a little-explored haunt of the mountainous state of Meghalaya. Laitlum translates to ‘end of hills’ and this sublimely beautiful hilltop appears to be true to its name. Spent some time here & start road drive to Guwahati. After arriving at Guwahati we will drop you at the Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey. Your arrival at the Airport/Railway Station will mark the end of the tour & services of AMT with everlasting memories of Northeast.
